My name is Hiroko Shimoda, and I am an acupuncture physician at Medical Acupuncture. I am passionate about helping patients improve their health through personalized treatment and holistic medicine. My clinical interests focus on internal medicine conditions, including sleep disorders, digestive health, allergies, and mental well-being.
I earned my Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine and have been a licensed acupuncturist in Florida and Pennsylvania since 2008. I am board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and a member of the Florida State Oriental Medicine Association (FSOMA). My training in both the United States and Japan allows me to combine traditional Eastern medical principles with modern clinical approaches.
Growing up in a traditional Japanese household, I was introduced early to the healing power of herbs and food. That experience inspired my path into acupuncture after spending two decades in the hospitality industry.
Outside the clinic, I enjoy working out, spending time outdoors, and reading or watching biographies that inspire personal growth. I also love traveling, relaxing in nature or on the beach, and spending quality time with my husband and our rescued dogs, Gabby and Reid.
