My name is Rita Johannessen, and I am a certified Shockwave and Class IV Laser technician at Medical Acupuncture. I work closely with patients who are recovering from injuries or dealing with chronic musculoskeletal conditions, helping them improve mobility, strength, and functional movement.
I was born in Oslo, Norway, and come from a family deeply rooted in healthcare. My father is a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, my mother was a nursing professor, and my stepfather is also a medical doctor. Growing up in this environment sparked my early interest in the human body and rehabilitation. After moving to the United States in 2010, I worked in the fitness industry and later attended the National Personal Training Institute in Orlando, building more than a decade of experience helping people improve physical performance and injury prevention.
Outside of work, I enjoy working out, hiking, roller skating, traveling, and exploring new foods. I also love spending time with my son, Lukas, and being outdoors whenever possible.
